Each month, a Geneva EMBA student shares insights about their studies and professional life.
What’s your best quality as a leader?
My interpersonal skills and adaptability, shaped by my multicultural background (half German, half Tunisian). I genuinely care about people and their opinions, which helps me inspire trust and create strong relationships.
What’s your greatest professional achievement?
Starting as an administrative assistant in a Swiss watch company and being promoted to Sales Market Manager within five years, despite coming from a small village in France and knowing nothing about the Swiss watchmaking landscape beforehand.
What skill do you hope to develop in your EMBA?
Self-confidence. The self-leadership classes on the course, especially the excellent coaching from Eric Rogers, have helped me unlock leadership and managerial abilities I didn’t know I had.
Which values guide you in your responsibilities?
Integrity, accountability, and authenticity. I believe in being responsible for the impact of my decisions and not taking things personally.
What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned in your career?
Humility. My current boss has taught me that no matter how high you rise, staying humble will always lead to long-term success.
What motivates you to succeed?
As a sporty person, I’m driven by perseverance, never giving up, as I learned during my first half marathon, which was tough! I apply this mindset in my professional life, too.
How will your career evolve after the EMBA?
After the first year of my MBA I already feel fully prepared to apply for managerial roles in my company. The EMBA has given me the confidence to push my career further.
What trait do you most admire in your classmates?
Their intelligence and public speaking skills, particularly their ability to handle complex topics with ease. I also admire their courage in taking career risks, like starting their own businesses.
