Meet Olena Vasiutina, Entrepreneur, Former Senior Marketing Strategy & Planning Manager at Procter & Gamble – Year 2 Geneva EMBA

What do you think is your best quality as a professional?
My ability to build meaningful relationships, which helps me create trust and credibility. I believe leadership is less about directing and more about guiding others so we can achieve success together.

What do you consider your greatest professional achievement so far?
During my time at an FMCG company, I led the turnaround of the capsule detergent segment in Eastern Europe. Despite initial significant challenges, the segment grew to become the number one contributor to Fabric category growth in the region and a key driver of success.

You are in the second year of the EMBA: what skills have you already developed during the programme?
The Self-Leadership course was truly eye-opening; it went beyond skill development to focus on reshaping one’s personal approach to leadership. This course helped me identify my strongest career anchors, understand what motivates me and to step into entrepreneurial confidence with clarity and self-assurance.

Which values guide you while taking responsibilities, and why?
Integrity, ownership and empathy. I aim to stay true to my principles, take responsibility for my actions and their outcomes, and build genuine relationships.

What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned in your career?
The importance of prioritizing progress over chasing perfection.

What motivates you to succeed, even in the face of challenges?
My family is my greatest source of strength and inspiration. I also like to visualize my final goal in mind, which keeps me focused and driven.

How do you envision your career evolving after completing the EMBA course?
I have a vision for leading my own business in a responsible and sustainable manner, and meeting fundamental needs with care and thoughtfulness.

What trait do you most admire in colleagues and peers from your class?
Their curiosity, their diversity of backgrounds alongside their acumen in specific knowledge areas, and their sense of humour – all of which create a truly rich and enjoyable learning journey!
