Prof. Dr. Zahira Jaser Joins the Geneva EMBA

The Geneva EMBA is pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Zahira Jaser as a new faculty member. She will teach the module Human Resource Management, a core component of the program dedicated to the strategic and responsible management of people in organisations.

Associate Professor in Organisational Behaviour and former Director of the Sussex MBA Program, Prof. Dr. Jaser is an Italian-Palestinian scholar whose research focuses on leadership, power dynamics, and the role of technology in manager–worker relationships. Her work has been published in leading academic journals, including Journal of Management Studies, Organisation Studies, Organisation Theory, and Academy of Management Learning & Education, and has been featured in prominent outlets such as Science and The Financial Times. She is strongly committed to fostering ethical, sustainable, and just business practices.

An Evidence-Based and Reflective Approach to HRM
The Human Resource Management module aims to provide participants with evidence-based knowledge of key people management practices. It offers a broad perspective on HRM theories while exploring specific managerial practices related to motivating individuals, leading change, and influencing organisational strategy.
A particular focus of the module will be the growing integration of Artificial Intelligence in HRM practices, and the strategic and ethical implications of its use in areas such as recruitment and performance management.
Designed to support participants in their development as reflective and critical practitioners, the module emphasises learning through reflection. Participants are encouraged to challenge assumptions, critically assess organisational issues, and make evidence-informed decisions.
The course also creates space for collaborative learning across diverse organisational contexts. Participants will have the opportunity to “drill into” a specific managerial challenge and develop practical solutions by applying the theories and frameworks covered in class. Particular attention will be given to ethics, sustainability, and social responsibility in people management practices.

With a professional background in banking and management, Prof. Dr. Jaser brings a strong ability to bridge theoretical insight and real-world application. Through her teaching, she seeks to equip leaders with the tools and critical perspective needed to drive meaningful organisational and societal change.

We look forward to welcoming her to the EMBA classroom.
