Geneva’s strategic horizon: The Geneva EMBA and BearingPoint shared commitment

BearingPoint is an independent management and technology consultancy offering consulting, products and capital services. In Switzerland, BearingPoint employs approximately 170 people, with 130 based in Zurich and around 40 in Geneva. The firm supports clients across various industries, including federal ministries, leading banks, and major insurance companies, providing innovative solutions to help businesses thrive.

What motivated BearingPoint to get involved with the EMBA programme at the University of Geneva?
Our motivation stems from our commitment to making our Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) engagement tangible within local communities. This partnership allows us to actively contribute to the development of future leaders, aligning with our values of sustainability and social responsibility. Additionally, it provides an opportunity to share our experience and knowledge with the academic world, and to build closer connections with the EMBA students

What aspects of the EMBA programme are most aligned with your company’s values?
The EMBA programme at the University of Geneva aligns closely with BearingPoint’s values through its focus on responsible leadership, innovation, practical insights, and continuous learning. These aspects resonate strongly with our vision to developing future leaders who are equipped to drive positive change and deliver impactful, forward-thinking solutions.

How do you think the EMBA curriculum helps develop future talents with the evolving needs of the Geneva ecosystem?
The EMBA curriculum has a strong connection with the professional world, which helps students gain a deeper understanding of the Geneva ecosystem. The programme ensures that graduates are well-equipped to navigate local challenges, drive innovation, and contribute effectively to Geneva’s dynamic economic and business environment

What emerging trends or skills do you believe are most critical for executive-level professionals in your industry over the next 5–10 years?
We believe that executive-level professionals will need to master a blend of tech-savvy skills and soft skills over the next 5–10 years to stay competitive. Technological proficiency in areas such as artificial intelligence and data analytics will be crucial. Equally important are soft skills like leadership, empathy, emotional intelligence, and strategic thinking, which will enable executives to lead teams effectively, build strong client relationships, and develop long-term strategies that align with market trends. Combining these skills will help executives navigate the complexities of the consulting landscape and drive sustainable growth.
