In June 2025, Geneva EMBA participants took part in a company visit at RTS, Switzerland’s public broadcaster, as part of their Supply Chain Management course led by Professor Antonio Stagno. This immersive field experience invited students to apply theory to real transformation challenges faced by RTS.
Under the theme “Optimizing the RTS Production Supply Chain in a Play-First Logic,” participants were organized into six project teams. They explored strategic issues related to demand-driven planning, talent supply chain management, content lifecycle optimization, and operational agility. Students spent several days onsite conducting interviews, gathering operational data, and mapping existing workflows. They applied advanced methodologies such as Lean Management, S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning), PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), and reverse logistics to analyze and address real-world inefficiencies.
The initiative was made possible thanks to the exceptional engagement of RTS professionals, notably Martial Challandes and Bertrand Fardel, who offered students privileged access to the broadcaster’s evolving production environment. The RTS is undergoing a major shift toward a digital-first distribution model, where streaming and on-demand content take precedence over traditional linear broadcasting.
“It was an enriching experience for the EMBA participants to approach a digital value chain transformation project of such scale within the limited timeframe of an EMBA module,” said Professor Stagno. “What truly defined this experience was the attention given to the organizational and human impacts of such a transformation — and the richness of the interactions with the outstanding RTS team.”
Through this collaboration, EMBA students were exposed to the complexity of managing transformation at the intersection of creativity, technology, and shifting audience behavior. Their work resulted in actionable recommendations tailored to RTS’s needs, highlighting their analytical capabilities and collaborative leadership in a dynamic and demanding context.
This company visit exemplifies the Geneva EMBA’s commitment to learning through real-life engagement, critical thinking, and impact-driven problem-solving.
