At the heart of the EMBA journey, the selection process plays a critical role in shaping engaged, diverse and high-performing cohorts. This is the core mission of the Selection Process Chapter of the EMBA UNIGE Alumni Association.
A chapter driven by diverse alumni profiles
The Selection Process Chapter brings together around fifteen EMBA alumni from a wide range of professional backgrounds, who graduated in different years since the creation of the EMBA programme.
This diversity of perspectives and experiences enables the chapter to assess candidates with a balanced, informed and inclusive approach.
A key role in the admission journey
Members of the chapter take part in interviews with candidates who have been pre-selected by the EMBA admission team, ahead of the start of the programme.
The purpose of these interviews is to assess the overall fit of each candidate with the EMBA, in terms of personal and professional project, personality, level of engagement, and expectations management. These conversations go beyond evaluation. They provide a meaningful opportunity to explore candidates’ motivations and readiness to fully commit to the EMBA experience.
The first alumni connection for future participants
The Selection Process Chapter often represents the first point of contact with the alumni community for prospective EMBA participants.
Chapter members play an essential role in:
– welcoming candidates into the EMBA ecosystem,
– answering their questions,
– motivating and reassuring them,
– offering support, advice and first-hand insights based on their own EMBA journey.
This early connection helps foster trust and a strong sense of belonging from the very beginning of the EMBA experience.
Contributing to cohesive and impactful cohorts
Following the interviews, the chapter is able to share recommendations with the EMBA team to support the selection of the most suitable profiles.
The objective is to help build coherent and well-balanced cohorts, enabling each participant to maximise the value of their investment and fully benefit from the collective learning experience.
A continuous and collaborative commitment
Twice a year, members of the Selection Process Chapter come together to:
– exchange best practices and share interview experiences,
– receive feedback from the EMBA team on the cohorts they have contributed to recruiting, as part of a continuous improvement approach,
– update their knowledge on upcoming evolutions of the EMBA programme,
– strengthen their network through discussions linked to their professional activities and key topics such as the evolution of HR practices, artificial intelligence, and other areas of shared interest.
These gatherings fully reflect the alumni spirit: growing together, learning from one another, and collectively contributing to an enriching and meaningful EMBA alumni experience for all.
